Dust of Snow by Robert Frost

Summary: Dust of Snow is a poem about an event of nature that changed the speaker

Verse 1:
  • The speaker is under a hemlock tree when a crow shakes off the "dust of snow" from the tree and it lands upon the speaker

Verse 2:

  • The event changes the speakers mood
  • The speaker regretted something on a day and this replaced the regret on that day

Other Notes:

  • The speaker tends to make the reader wonder what events changed his/her life
  • It seems that the feeling of cold of snow and the active life of the crow would remind the reader how warm he/she is or alive one can feel
  • This poem is built around a single image
